Our Alpine A110, first registered on October 10, 2019, has covered 38,900 km. Originally delivered in France, it is currently registered in France and has had several owners, the last one since June 29, 2023.

The reborn Alpine A110 arrived in 2017 as Renault’s boutique sports-car brand came back to life. Rather than chasing headline power, the modern A110 doubled down on the ethos of the 1960s Berlinette: keep it light, keep it deft. Designed under Antony Villain and engineered by a crack team led by David Twohig, it combines an aluminium bonded-and-riveted structure, mid‑engine balance and exquisite damping to deliver feel and flow that recall greats from Dieppe’s past.
Its 1.8‑litre turbo four delivers 252 PS and 320 Nm through a 7‑speed dual‑clutch to the rear axle. With kerb weights typically just over 1.1 tonnes, the base A110 (including Pure and Légende trims) punches far above its output: 0–100 km/h in around 4.5 s and a 250 km/h top speed. Early “Première Edition” cars—limited to 1,955 to honour Alpine’s founding year—sold out in a few days via a smartphone app, a modern twist that underscored the appetite for a lightweight driver’s car.
Period critics were smitten. Evo crowned it Car of the Year in 2018, and Top Gear repeatedly lauded its ride/handling blend, noting how it danced on imperfect roads where heavier rivals stumbled. Common gripes centred on the muted exhaust note and early infotainment, but the chassis’ bandwidth and the Sabelt one‑piece seats (about 13 kg each) became instant cult details. A neat curiosity: the rear Brembo caliper integrates the parking brake mechanism to save weight.
Competition framed the A110 as a connoisseur’s choice against the Porsche 718 Cayman, Alfa 4C and later the Lotus Emira. Alpine expanded the family—A110 S and GT at 300 PS, limited editions like the Légende GT, Tour de Corse 75 and the radical A110 R—yet the original 252‑hp tune remained the car that best expressed the “lightness first” brief. On track and stages, A110 Cup, GT4 and R‑GT variants gave Alpine a visible motorsport ladder, scoring wins in GT4 competition and success in the FIA R‑GT Cup, reinforcing the brand’s blue‑blooded heritage.
Pop culture picked it up too: the 2017 A110 appears in Gran Turismo and Forza Horizon, while Alpine F1 drivers were often seen with A110s at events after Renault’s F1 squad rebranded to Alpine in 2021—proof of the halo effect. As production winds toward 2025 and the marque pivots to electrification, the A110 252 hp stands as one of the great modern driver’s cars: a reminder that agility, feedback and simplicity can still outrun brute force.
