Our Ferrari F355 Berlinetta was first registered on 28 September 1995 in France, at Pozzi in Toulouse. It currently has 99,800 kilometres on the clock.
Presented in the traditional Rosso Corsa colour, paired with a black leather interior, this F355 retains an iconic configuration of the marque. The bodywork is in very good overall condition, with no reported defects. The cabin shows minor signs of use, while the dashboard instruments and mechanics present no particular issues.
This F355 belongs to the first evolution of the model, equipped with Bosch Motronic 2.7 engine management. Its 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V8, featuring five valves per cylinder, produces 380 hp at 8,250 rpm. During the June 2023 service, several major works were carried out, including replacement of seals, tensioners, pulleys and timing belts with adjustment, as well as clutch replacement. The intervention also included replacement of filters, spark plugs and battery, work on the power steering and braking system, replacement of various peripheral components, and several maintenance and inspection operations.
Consumables are reported to be in good condition. No expenses are expected at present and no modifications have been reported.

Model history — Ferrari F355 Berlinetta (1994–1999)
Born as Ferrari’s emphatic answer to the much-praised Acura/Honda NSX and to criticisms levelled at the 348, the F355 was a comprehensive re-engineering rather than a mere facelift. Under Luca di Montezemolo’s stewardship and Pininfarina’s pen, Maranello delivered a mid‑engined V8 that fused civility with race‑bred sparkle. The name said it all: a 3.5‑litre V8 with 5 valves per cylinder, good for 380 PS and an 8,500 rpm redline. A variable‑length intake and an exhaust bypass valve gave the 355 both breadth of torque and one of the most celebrated soundtracks of the era.
The Berlinetta arrived in 1994 and immediately reset expectations for Ferrari road manners. Revised suspension geometry, power steering and electronically controlled dampers endowed the car with precision and compliance that eluded its predecessor. Beneath the sculpted Pininfarina body sat a wind‑tunnel‑honed flat underfloor and rear diffuser that generated real downforce without resorting to wings. Early cars ran Bosch Motronic 2.7 management; from 1996, Motronic 5.2 brought smoother running and OBD‑II compliance. In 1997, Ferrari introduced the optional F1 electro‑hydraulic paddle‑shift—the first time such a system appeared on a series‑production road car—a gateway to the shift technology that would define Ferraris for years.
Beyond the Berlinetta, Ferrari offered the open‑roof GTS and the Spider, while the one‑make F355 Challenge series nurtured a devoted racing community. Total F355 production reached roughly 11,273 units, of which about 4,871 were Berlinettas—numbers that balance rarity with genuine road presence today.
Contemporary reviewers from CAR, Autocar and Road & Track hailed the F355’s steering feel, balance and civility, often declaring it a return to form for Ferrari’s V8 lineage. Pop culture cemented its icon status: a red F355 GTS sparred with Bond’s DB5 in GoldenEye (1995), and a yellow F355 Spider starred in the San Francisco chase of The Rock (1996). The car also became a 1990s celebrity favourite, its gated shifter and shrieking V8 turning school‑run streets into quasi‑pitlanes.
Quirks? It was the last mid‑engined V8 Ferrari with pop‑up headlights and the final five‑valve Ferrari before the 360 Modena arrived in 1999 with four‑valve heads. Ownership lore notes engine‑out belt services, early valve‑guide wear on some cars, and heat‑stressed exhaust manifolds—but a well‑sorted Berlinetta remains a singular experience: compact, tactile and operatic. In the wider brand story, the F355 didn’t just beat its rivals (993‑era 911s, Lotus Esprit V8, even the NSX); it re‑established Ferrari as the benchmark for usable, high‑revving mid‑engined supercars and set the template for the modern V8s that followed.
