Our McLaren 600 LT Coupé, first registered on 19 January 2019, currently has 29,900 km on the clock. Originally from Germany, it is currently registered in France and has been owned by its current owner since 2025.

The 600LT Coupe arrived in 2018 as the most hardcore expression of McLaren’s Sports Series, reviving the storied Longtail lineage that began with the F1 GTR “Longtail” and was reinterpreted by the 675LT. Revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the 600LT took the already sharp 570S and re-engineered it with a ruthless focus on lap-time and driver feel. McLaren claimed more than 23% of its components were new, while production of the Coupe ran during 2018–2019 at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, limited by build time rather than a fixed number.
Power rose to 600 PS and torque to 620 Nm, but the real story was weight and aerodynamics: up to 96 kg pared away versus a 570S, a fixed rear wing, longer front splitter, extended side skirts and a larger diffuser delivering roughly 100 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. The 600LT grew about 74 mm in length because of the aero addenda, rode on Trofeo R tyres, and featured a track-hardened chassis tune. Its signature party trick? Top-exit exhausts that spat blue flames at full chat and filled the cabin with a raw, mechanical soundtrack.
Contemporary rivals included the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and GT2 RS, Ferrari 488 Pista and Lamborghini Huracán Performante, yet critics consistently praised the 600LT’s steering feel and on-road engagement. It earned a rare 5-star Autocar road test, won evo’s Car of the Year 2018, and picked up Top Gear’s 2018 Track Car of the Year. Reviewers lauded its balance and confidence, noting how approachable it felt at the limit for a car this quick.
The 600LT’s impact on the brand was significant: it cemented McLaren’s reputation for delivering driver-first specials across multiple series, not just the Super Series. The Coupe’s success set the stage for the 600LT Spider in 2019 and primed enthusiasm for later LT models such as the 765LT. Pop culture helped too—appearances in major YouTube track features, a memorable Top Gear film with Chris Harris, and inclusion in popular racing games like the Forza Horizon series spread its flame-spitting legend far beyond track-day paddocks.
Fun fact: the optional Super-Lightweight carbon fibre seats, shared with the Senna, saved a remarkable amount of mass; and with air-con and audio deletes available, a 600LT could be specced almost like a road-legal club racer. Few cars blend intimidation and invitation quite like this Longtail.
