Our Porsche 911 Type 991 Targa 4S was first registered on September 10, 2014 and currently shows 45,385 km. Originally delivered in Germany, it is now registered in France and has had two owners since leaving the dealership.
This example is presented in an elegant Schwarz (041/A1) configuration, paired with a Schwarz (041/AZ) full leather interior. The bodywork shows a few minor marks but remains in good overall condition. The cabin is very well preserved.
Powered by the naturally aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six producing 400 hp, this Targa 4S sends its power to all four wheels through the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission. It therefore offers a particularly successful balance between performance, versatility and driving pleasure. The 991 generation also marks the return of the true Targa spirit with its brushed aluminum fixed roll bar and spectacular roof mechanism.
Maintenance has been carried out exclusively within the Porsche network. The vehicle comes with its service book as well as the corresponding invoices.

Porsche 911 (991.1) Targa 4S – 2014 to 2016
When Porsche revived the Targa for the 991 generation in 2014, it wasn’t just a body style; it was a love letter to the original 1960s icon. After two generations of sliding-glass Targas (996/997), the 991.1 returned to the trademark brushed Targa hoop and dramatic wraparound rear glass, but made it thoroughly modern with a fully powered roof ballet. Underneath the theatre sat the proven 3.8‑litre naturally aspirated flat‑six with 400 PS, all‑wheel drive as standard (Porsche Traction Management), and your choice of a 7‑speed manual or the lightning-quick 7‑speed PDK.
The idea of the Targa dates back to fears of looming US rollover regulations in the 1960s, and the name itself honors the Targa Florio road race. The 991 reinterpreted that heritage visually and technically. Press a button and the heated rear dome tilts up, the magnesium roof panel pirouettes away, and in roughly 19 seconds the car morphs from snug coupé to airy open-top—albeit only when stationary, by design. Reviewers of the day loved the spectacle and the stance: the Targa’s wide all‑wheel‑drive body (with the full-width rear light strip) gave it a muscular, timeless look.
On the road, critics noted a small weight penalty versus a Carrera 4S Coupé, but also praised the Targa’s blend of everyday civility and long‑legged pace. PDK cars with Sport Chrono could sprint to 100 km/h in the mid‑4s, yet the car remained more grand tourer than track weapon—exactly what many buyers wanted. Period tests from Europe and the US highlighted steering precision, formidable traction on wet roads, and a charismatic, rev‑hungry flat‑six that became something of a last hurrah before the 991.2’s switch to turbocharged 3.0‑litre units in late 2016.
Competition was eclectic rather than direct. Mercedes’ SL, Jaguar’s F‑Type Convertible, Audi’s R8 Spyder and Chevrolet’s C7 Corvette Convertible all vied for open‑air wallets, but none replicated the Targa’s distinctive silhouette and roof theatre. Porsche’s marketing leaned into that difference, and launch films of the opening mechanism racked up millions of views among enthusiasts. Dealers reported strong interest from style‑driven buyers and long‑time Porschephiles who remembered classic Targas.
There were meaningful options—PASM was standard on the S, while PDCC, PTV Plus, PCCB and Sport Chrono let owners tailor the character. Mid‑cycle, infotainment and connectivity were tidied up, and for 2015 the hotter Targa 4 GTS (430 PS) arrived above the 4S, but the 991.1 Targa 4S itself stayed true to the naturally aspirated recipe until the curtain fell in 2016. As a bridge between nostalgia and modernity, it had real brand impact: it proved Porsche could celebrate its past without getting stuck in it, and it turned the everyday act of opening a roof into the kind of moment car people live for.
