Our Aston Martin DB7 V12 Vantage, first registered on May 15, 2003, currently shows 74,000 km.
Originally from Monaco, it is currently registered in France. This example has had six owners, with the current owner acquiring it in August 2025.
This example is presented in an elegant Antrim Blue finish, combined with a cream leather interior. The bodywork is in generally good condition, showing only a few minor cosmetic imperfections and some marks underneath the front bumper. The interior is in good condition, with leather upholstery that has retained its original patina. The dashboard instrumentation is fully operational.
Under the bonnet, the iconic 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 develops 420 hp and is paired with an automatic gearbox. A true British grand tourer, this DB7 Vantage is as appealing for its performance as it is for its timeless elegance. Its excellent mechanical history, maintained throughout its life by Aston Martin and recognised specialists, makes it a particularly reassuring example.

When the DB7 V12 Vantage arrived at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show, it transformed Aston Martin’s handsome 1990s GT into a bona fide modern flagship. Out went the supercharged straight‑six; in came a newly developed 5.9‑litre, 48‑valve V12 engineered with Cosworth Technology during the Ford era. The DB7’s steel backbone—traced to the Jaguar XJ‑S—was thoroughly stiffened, the suspension retuned, and bigger brakes and 18‑inch wheels filled out Ian Callum’s timeless silhouette. The result was 420 hp (309 kW), 400 lb ft (542 Nm) and the sort of long‑legged pace and soundtrack Aston had been promising for decades.
Buyers chose between a tactile 6‑speed manual (Tremec T‑56) and a 5‑speed ZF ‘Touchtronic’ automatic with steering‑wheel shift buttons. As a grand tourer it went toe‑to‑toe with the Jaguar XKR, Maserati 3200 GT/4200 Coupé and higher‑priced Ferrari 456M—and even tempted would‑be 550 Maranello owners who preferred waft to razor‑edged response. Period testers adored the styling and V12’s cultured thunder, while noting some dated bones: Ford‑group switchgear, a tight cabin and, on the Volante, noticeable scuttle shake.
Upgrades came steadily. Aston’s Works Service soon offered the ‘Driving Dynamics’ package (uprated suspension, beefier brakes, subtle aero), hinting at what would follow. For 2002, the factory-launched DB7 GT (and auto‑only GTA) turned the wick to 435 hp with revised cams and breathing, added larger Brembo brakes, stiffer springs and revised geometry, a quicker steering rack, and distinctive mesh grille and bonnet vents—arguably the DB7 at its sweetest. Limited offshoots crowned the run: the DB7 Zagato (2002, 99 coupes) and U.S.‑market DB AR1 (2003, 99 barchettas), both with the uprated V12 and unique alloy coachwork.
Beyond the spec sheet, the V12 Vantage’s impact was strategic. It sold in meaningful numbers—the majority of the 7,000‑odd DB7s built were V12s—kept Newport Pagnell busy, and, crucially, established the smooth, torquey 5.9‑litre as Aston Martin’s signature heart for the next decade (Vanquish, DB9, V12 Vantage). It bridged the artisanal past and the Gaydon‑era future. Jeremy Clarkson and many contemporaries called the DB7 one of the most beautiful cars of its time, and few argued; the car became a poster piece for late‑90s British glamour.
Fun footnote: enthusiasts often repeat that Aston’s V12 was “two Duratec V6s on a common crank.” In truth it was a clean‑sheet design created for Aston by Cosworth Technology, though it did leverage Ford family know‑how. Either way, the V12 Vantage delivered exactly what it said on the bootlid: a cultured, long‑striding GT with a heroic engine—and, in GT/Zagato form, the dynamic focus to match its looks. Production of the standard V12 Vantage ran from 1999 to 2003, just as the DB9 was preparing to usher in the next chapter.
