Our BMW X5 xDrive50e, put on the road on November 28, 2024, today totals 15,000 km. Delivered new by BMW Blois, it is still in the hands of its first owner and is in strictly new condition, both aesthetically and mechanically.
This model is dressed in the Purple Daytona color from the BMW Individual program, combined with a black leather interior. The body is protected by a complete PPF, covered with ceramic wax. Like the exterior, the cabin is flawless. The on-board instrumentation works perfectly.
Under the hood, this X5 50e plug-in hybrid develops 489 horsepower, combining performance and efficiency thanks to xDrive all-wheel drive and automatic transmission. The mechanics are in perfect condition, no costs are to be expected.
Being an almost new vehicle, the first maintenance has not yet been carried out. The consumables are in very good general condition, with only 15,000 km driven.
No changes have been made to the vehicle.
The only changes made concern the installation of the integral PPF on the body.
This BMW X5 is accompanied by its BMW Blois purchase invoice, the ceramic treatment invoice, the administrative situation certificate and two keys.

BMW X5 (G05) xDrive50e sits at the heart of BMW’s plug‑in hybrid strategy. The fourth‑generation X5 (internal code G05) arrived in 2018 on the flexible CLAR platform; the electrified chapter began with the xDrive45e in 2019/2020, and the comprehensive LCI facelift in early 2023 ushered in the much‑improved xDrive50e. It pairs BMW’s B58 3.0‑litre straight‑six with a stronger e‑motor and a significantly larger battery, bringing system output to 360 kW (489 hp) and up to 110 km of WLTP electric range depending on spec.
When the original E53 X5 launched in 1999, BMW coined the term “Sports Activity Vehicle” to underline on‑road dynamics in an SUV body. That DNA carries through the G05, which, even as a PHEV tipping the scales well over 2.5 tonnes, still aims for a rear‑biased balance and long‑legged refinement. The 50e’s e‑motor sits within the 8‑speed gearbox with a clever pre‑gearing stage, effectively amplifying torque for strong off‑the‑line shove; BMW quotes 0–100 km/h in 4.8 s, Vmax 250 km/h (140 km/h in EV mode).
The 2023 LCI did more than sharpen the lights and grille: the cabin gained BMW’s Curved Display (12.3" + 14.9") with iDrive 8/8.5, expanded driver assistance, and a far quicker PHEV powertrain. Battery capacity jumped to ~29.5 kWh gross (about 25.7 kWh usable) and the onboard charger doubled to 7.4 kW AC. Real‑world testers routinely praised the genuine 70–90 km electric range and the smooth handoff between motor and straight‑six; common critiques targeted the mass on poor surfaces, the price of options, the reduced boot versus ICE X5s, and the absence of DC fast‑charging—an area where rivals like Mercedes’ GLE PHEV fight back.
Speaking of rivals, the xDrive50e plays in a fiercely competitive arena: Porsche Cayenne E‑Hybrid, Mercedes‑Benz GLE 400 e/350 de, Audi Q7 55 TFSI e, Volvo XC90 Recharge and Range Rover’s PHEVs all court the same buyer. The BMW counters with creamy power delivery, strong performance close to the old V8 50i, and a chassis that still feels inherently BMW. It’s built primarily in Spartanburg, South Carolina—home of BMW’s SUV empire—helping the X5 remain one of the brand’s global best‑sellers and a crucial profit engine funding M cars and new EVs.
Curiosities and enthusiast notes: the PHEV X5 has never offered a third row due to battery packaging, but it keeps a respectable 2,700 kg braked towing rating in many markets. Adaptive recuperation uses navigation and sensor data to vary regen strength, and the optional two‑axle air suspension plus active roll control can make this big plug‑in feel improbably composed. Period reviews from outlets such as Autocar, Car and Driver and Top Gear’s online arm highlighted the 50e’s meaningful EV range and muscular pace, while noting that 22‑inch wheels can harm ride quality. In short, the xDrive50e proves that electrification can enhance the X5’s long‑standing brief: fast, quiet, and effortlessly capable—now with bona‑fide daily electric driving.
