Our Ferrari 458 Spider, first registered on July 9, 2013, now shows 42,536 km. Originally delivered in Belgium, it is currently registered in France and has had two owners.
This example is presented in Rosso Corsa, paired with a Nero 8500 interior with carbon-fibre trim. The bodywork shows a few stone chips on the front end, consistent with use, without affecting the overall condition. The cabin is in perfect condition, and all instrumentation functions flawlessly.
Under the hood, the 4.5-litre naturally aspirated V8 produces 570 hp and is paired with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This configuration delivers the unmistakable high-revving experience typical of Ferrari’s naturally aspirated engines of this era.

The Ferrari 458 Spider arrived in 2011 as the open-air counterpart to Maranello’s acclaimed 458 Italia, and immediately set a benchmark for drop-top supercars. It was the first mid-rear V8 production Ferrari to adopt a fully aluminium retractable hard top, a roof that vanished in just 14 seconds and weighed less than a fabric soft top. Despite the packaging challenge, Pininfarina’s surfacing introduced elegant flying buttresses and a louvred engine cover, preserving both drama and cooling performance.
At its heart, the naturally aspirated 4.5‑litre V8 sang to 9,000 rpm, delivering 570 CV (562 hp) and 540 Nm through a 7‑speed dual‑clutch gearbox to the rear wheels. Ferrari’s E‑Diff3, F1‑Trac and SCM magnetorheological dampers gave the Spider uncanny traction and compliance on real roads. Performance barely blinked versus the coupé: 0‑100 km/h in 3.4 s and a 320 km/h top speed, all while flooding the cabin with one of the greatest intake-and-exhaust soundtracks of the era.
Launched at Frankfurt in 2011, the 458 Spider met rivals head-on: McLaren’s MP4‑12C Spider with its carbon tub and turbo V8, Lamborghini’s Gallardo LP560‑4 Spyder (and later Huracán), Audi’s R8 V10 Spyder, and Porsche’s 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. Period tests frequently crowned the Ferrari for steering purity, throttle response and chassis balance; critics noted the Spider was a touch softer than the Italia at the absolute limit, yet more evocative and no less devastating on a mountain road.
It made a splash culturally, too. The 458 family became a video‑game staple (Gran Turismo, Forza, Need for Speed, Asphalt), and the Spider gained internet fame via Canadian DJ deadmau5 and his Nyan‑Cat‑liveried “Purrari” on the Gumball 3000 rally. Ferrari’s unusual approach—eschewing traditional advertising—meant customer events and viral clips of that shrieking flat‑plane V8 effectively did the marketing.
For Ferrari, the 458 Spider cemented two big trends. First, it proved the brand’s retractable-hard-top concept worked brilliantly on a mid‑engine platform, a template carried forward into the 488 and F8 Spiders. Second, it became the swan song for the high‑revving, naturally aspirated mid‑V8 convertible; its 2015 run-out preceded the turbocharged 488 Spider era. A late‑cycle halo, the limited 458 Speciale A (Aperta), underlined just how accomplished the open 458 chassis had become.
Today, enthusiasts revere the 458 Spider not just for its numbers, but for its analog sensations within a modern package: hydraulic steering feel, instantaneous NA throttle response, and that operatic V8—best enjoyed with the roof stowed and the horizon approaching fast.
