Our Porsche Cayman S 987, put on the road on February 16, 2006 in Germany, shows 117,500 KM today. It was registered in France by its current owner after its acquisition in April 2023.
This copy comes in a metallic gray color combined with a black leather interior. The body is in good general condition, with some gravel impacts associated with use. The interior is also well preserved. All the on-board instrumentation is working perfectly.
Under the hood, we find the naturally aspirated 3.4L Flat-6 developing 295 horsepower, combined with a manual gearbox. The mechanics are in perfect working condition, with a complete overhaul carried out in April 2025. No costs are to be expected.
The interview was followed up at the Porsche Center and then with recognized specialists:
The vehicle comes with its complete maintenance book, invoices, and two keys.
The consumables are in very good overall condition.
No specific modifications, replacements, or repairs to report. No costs to expect.
The Porsche Cayman S 987, introduced in 2005, was born from the 987c internal project. It is the coupe version of the second generation Boxster (987), with which it shares a central platform, running gear, and a large part of the body: hood, front fenders, doors, doors, optics and cabin elements.
First presented alongside the 911 (997) at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, the Cayman S takes up the basics of the 3.4-liter flat-6, developing 295 hp (217 kW) after the 2007 update. It is equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox or a Tiptronic S automatic transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 5.4 seconds (6.1 with the automatic transmission) and the maximum speed reaches 272 km/h.
The interior design evolves from the 986, with a more circular language and reworked instrumentation. The exterior, although similar to the Boxster, adopts a fastback hardtop, reinforcing the structure and changing the dynamic balance.
The model will be replaced in 2012 by the 981 generation. The Cayman S 987 occupies a particular place: more rigid than the convertible from which it derives, it embodies a technical proposal focused on driving precision, without belonging to the 911 range.
