Mention the name Countach to any enthusiast, and an entire era comes rushing back. Yet, behind this iconic name lies a surprising story. While the prototype was being designed, a Piedmontese worker, amused and awestruck by the car’s futuristic lines, exclaimed, "Countach!"—a dialect interjection expressing both surprise and admiration.

Gandini, taken by the sound of it, jokingly suggested the name to the team. It stuck, and became the name of a legend. And so, the Lamborghini Countach was born: with a burst of laughter, in the shadows of a workshop.
