Our Porsche 911 Type 992 Targa 4 was first registered on 9 October 2020 in Germany. This example currently has 27,000 kilometres on the clock. It changed ownership on 2 April 2026 and is currently offered with a Porsche Approved warranty.
Presented in an elegant Dolomite Silver Metallic shade (code M7P), paired with a black interior (code AE), this 911 features a sober and timeless configuration. The bodywork and interior are in excellent condition, with no reported defects. The dashboard instrumentation functions normally and the mechanical condition is reported as excellent. A full ceramic coating completes its presentation.
The 992 Targa 4 combines the 3.0-litre biturbo flat-six engine, here producing 385 hp, with an eight-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox and all-wheel drive. Its silhouette follows the historic Targa codes, with its distinctive roll bar, wrap-around rear window and fully automatic retractable roof, which opens or closes in 19 seconds. Compared with the 991.2, the 992 brings a stiffer body, smarter aero (active cooling flaps and a wider adaptive rear wing), a more sophisticated PASM tune and the excellent Wet Mode that listens for water on the road and primes the chassis. The cabin blends classic five‑dial cues with a 10.9‑inch PCM and a cleaner, horizontal dash—heritage meeting modernity.
Why a Targa at all? Historically, the name hails from the Targa Florio, and the original 1965 concept neatly side‑stepped looming US rollover regs while keeping that open‑air feel. The 992 keeps faith with that idea but makes it near‑supercar refined: wind management is superb, the structure feels granite‑solid, and the AWD traction turns shoulder‑season drives into a specialty. The 0–100 km/h dash in about 4.4 s (4.2 with Sport Chrono) and a 289 km/h top speed mean it’s no mere style piece.
Competition is peculiar: nothing else mixes a coupe silhouette with open‑top sensations quite like a 911 Targa. Buyers often cross‑shop convertibles and GTs—Jaguar F‑Type AWD, BMW 8 Series Convertible, even Mercedes‑AMG roadsters—but the Targa’s heritage vibe and everyday bandwidth are unique.
