First 911 Carrera to receive the GTS variant, introduced in 2010
3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 408 hp
Example in very good condition
Well maintained
Our Porsche 911 Type 997.2 Carrera GTS was first registered on 21 March 2011 in Germany. Now registered in France, it has covered 90,057 kilometres. It has had three owners, two in Germany and one in France.
Presented in a Metallic GT Silver finish paired with a black leather and Alcantara interior, this Carrera GTS features a sporty and elegant configuration. The bodywork is in very good condition, as is the interior. The dashboard instruments and mechanics operate normally.
Introduced in 2010, the 997.2 Carrera GTS complements the 911 range by offering a sportier interpretation of the Carrera S. Its 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine produces 408 hp and 420 Nm of torque. Mated to the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, it drives the rear wheels. The GTS also stands out with its 44 mm wider body, specific chassis, and dedicated styling elements.
This example has been serviced at Porsche Centres and brand specialists. It comes with its service book and partial invoices that trace part of its history. It has just left the Porsche Approved programme.

Porsche 911 (997.2) Carrera GTS – the swansong sweet spot. Arriving late in the 997’s life in late 2010 for the 2011 model year, the Carrera GTS distilled everything enthusiasts loved about the analogue-era 911 into one compelling package. It sat neatly between the Carrera S and the track-honed GT3, pairing the everyday civility of a Carrera with a meaningful performance and chassis uplift.
The heart of the GTS is its 3.8-litre flat-six with direct injection, tuned to 408 PS via a resonance intake system with six switchable flaps and freer-breathing exhaust. That’s a 23 PS bump over the Carrera S, delivered without sacrificing torque (420 Nm) or drivability. You could have it as a Coupé or Cabriolet, with a 6-speed manual or the 7-speed PDK, but always with rear-wheel drive. A signature move was giving the GTS the 44 mm wider rear body of the Carrera 4, yet keeping it two-wheel drive—visually punchy, dynamically purist.
Standard fit on most markets were GTS hallmarks that enthusiasts still prize: PASM adaptive dampers, 19-inch RS Spyder centre-lock wheels (a first for a road-going Carrera), a sports exhaust, SportDesign front apron, black exterior accents and an Alcantara-heavy interior vibe. Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanical limited-slip differential and PCCB carbon-ceramic brakes were on the options sheet, as were fixed-back buckets and a 90-litre fuel tank for long-haul runs.
Contemporary road tests lauded the GTS for its hydraulic steering feel, supple yet tied-down ride and real-world pace—0–100 km/h in as little as 4.2 s with PDK and Launch Control, and 300+ km/h flat out. Many reviewers called it the “best all-round 997,” the car that blended GT poise with Carrera usability. Against rivals such as the Audi R8, Nissan GT-R and BMW M3, the GTS won hearts by being lighter on its feet and richer in feedback rather than chasing headline numbers.
There are some fun footnotes. The GTS badge nods to Porsche legends like the 904 Carrera GTS and 928 GTS, and this 997 was the first 911 Carrera to wear centre-lock hubs. It also previewed a strategy: the GTS trim became a fixture of subsequent 991 and 992 generations, often the enthusiast’s choice in the range. With a short production run (2011–2012) just before the 991 arrived, strong residuals and rising collector interest followed—especially for manual Coupés in classic colours. Period ads leaned into its duality: a 911 you could commute in during the week and devour an Alpine pass on Sunday. Today, it remains a compelling reminder of the last naturally aspirated, hydraulic-steer 911s—and why they mattered.
