Our Mercedes Classe SL 500, with 93,100 KM on the clock, was put into circulation on April 10, 2013 in France. Its current owner purchased it in October 2021.
This copy is distinguished by its rare Indigolite Blue Metallic color, applied as soon as it was delivered in 2013 by its first owner (original color: black). It is combined with a Black Anthracite leather interior. The overall condition of the body and interior is excellent, with no flaws to report.
Under the hood, this SL 500 is powered by a 4.7L twin-turbo V8 developing 435 horsepower, coupled to a 7G-Tronic+ automatic gearbox. His maintenance was carried out almost exclusively at Mercedes and by a specialist, with a complete history and invoices available. The last revision was carried out on 30 August 2024 and a new battery is installed. No costs are to be expected, and the consumables are in excellent condition.
Here are the options and equipment available to this copy:
The Mercedes-Benz SL 500 R231, unveiled in March 2012, marks the sixth generation of the SL range, replacing the R230. This roadster adopts an aluminum structure, reducing its weight by 140 kg compared to its predecessor. Under the hood, it features a 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8 developing 435 horsepower, coupled to an automatic transmission.
The design, led by Frank Pfisterer and Mark Fetherston, was finalized in 2010 after a process that began in 2007. This model introduces a retractable hardtop with an optional variable-tint panoramic roof. Among the innovations, the MAGIC VISION CONTROL system adapts the projection of windshield washer fluid directly onto the path of the wiper blades to avoid any visibility discomfort.
In terms of equipment, the R231 integrates advanced technologies, such as the Active Body Control suspension system (optional), traffic sign recognition, and the PRE-SAFE system that anticipates accident situations. The cabin benefits from a FrontBass audio system, exploiting the sound boxes in the chassis. This model abandons the V12 engine for the first time except AMG versions and illustrates the evolution of the SL towards greater lightness and electronic assistance.
