The Porsche 911 Type 996 “40 Jahre”, unveiled in 2003, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the 911, produced in 1963. Limited to 1963 copies, this special version is distinguished by specific elements such as the front fascia from the 996 Carrera 4S and Turbo, side panels from the GT3, and an exclusive GT Silver metallic color, borrowed from the Carrera GT. Inside, Porsche Exclusive has incorporated dark gray natural leather with aluminum details, sports seats and a number plate.
Mechanically, the “40 Jahre” benefits from the X51 engine kit, which increases the power of the 3.6L flat-six from 320 to 345 horsepower. The suspension is lowered by 10mm and a limited-slip differential is standard, but only a 6-speed manual transmission is available. With additional equipment and a unique design, it gains 35 kg compared to the classic Carrera.
On the market, this limited edition is seeing its price increase, even surpassing the Porsche 996 Turbo. Its exclusivity and rarity make it a model sought after by collectors, promising a future increase in value.
