Our Porsche 911 Type G Speedster, put into circulation on June 6, 1989, was delivered new in Germany before arriving in France in 2017, when it changed ownership.
This rare model comes in a superb Silber-Met Gray color, enhanced by a Tiefschwarz Black leather interior. Its condition is exceptional, with a perfectly preserved body and a flawless interior.
Mechanically, this 911 Speedster is powered by the famous 3.2L naturally aspirated Flat 6 developing 231 horsepower, combined with a manual gearbox. The maintenance was followed up at the Porsche Center Wiesbaden, and the last revision was carried out in November 2015. The Porsche 911 Type G Speedster, produced in 1989, is a low-roof version inspired by the 356 Speedster from the 1950s. Developed under the direction of Helmuth Bott in 1983, it did not enter production until six years later, in a limited edition. Only 2,104 units were built, including 171 in a narrow version and the rest in a “Turbo-Look” configuration.
Based on the 911 Carrera 3.2, it retains the 231-horsepower 3.2-liter flat-six engine combined with a Getrag G50 five-speed manual transmission. Its design is distinguished by a shortened windshield, a double boss behind the seats and a simplified soft top, accentuating its sporty look. The interior is simple, recalling the spirit of classic Speedsters.
Production ended in July 1989, marking the end of the Type G generation before the arrival of the 964. Today, the 911 Speedster Type G is a sought-after model, due to its rarity and its link to the history of Porsche. It is part of the 911 tradition while reinterpreting the Speedster concept in a more modern and efficient version.
