Our Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid Platinum Edition was delivered new in France and put into circulation on December 19, 2022. Its current owner is the sole owner until today.
This copy is in perfect condition, comparable to new condition. Configured in a Jet Black color, combined with black RS Spyder Design wheels, exterior carbon elements, a black leather-covered cabin and Platinum Satin elements, this Porsche Cayenne is completely flawless.
Mechanically, its operation is flawless. The 340 hp 3.0L V6 Turbo engine, combined with a 100 KW electric motor, delivers 462 horsepower with the help of the 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox in disconcerting ease. This car has a Porsche Approved guarantee until 2025. All invoices are available.
Here are the options and equipment available to our copy:
In the 1990s, Porsche's financial stability was more than precarious. The company relies on its two successful models, the inevitable 911 and the recently released Boxster. However, the sale of these two models was not enough to ensure the sustainability of Porsche, forcing the brand to think of a new solution. During the 1991-1992 year, only 23,060 cars were sold.
The American Porsche distributor and management are considering the construction of an all-terrain vehicle. This solution is in line with the ideas of Ferry Porsche in 1989, who said at the time: “If we build an off-road model according to our quality standards, and it has a Porsche badge on the front, people will buy it.” The decision is made to develop an SUV that is not only sporty, but also competitive compared to the already existing off-road models.
Requiring very particular expertise, Porsche is undertaking this new task in collaboration with Volkswagen as part of the “Colorado” project. The newcomer, named Cayenne, then shared its platform with the VW Touareg. A production site was built in 1999 in Leipzig, and the final production will be carried out in Saxony. The Cayenne is equipped with a V8 engine. The powers soar quickly with the S versions, with 340 horsepower, and the Turbo version, with 450 horsepower. The world premiere of the Cayenne was made at the Paris Motor Show in September 2002.
Unsurprisingly, some customers are crying foul and denouncing a model that is rigorously contrary to the philosophy of the brand. However, the figures will prove Porsche right with no less than 276,652 copies sold from its first generation, or 35,000 per year. The symbolic million mark was exceeded a few years later thanks to the many generations.
In 2022, the brand continues to develop its SUV, in particular by introducing its hybrid technology. The Cayenne Coupé E-Hybrid responds to the industry context, encouraging the reduction of carbon emissions. Porsche combines a 3.0-liter V6 turbo engine with an electric motor, making it possible to reach 462 horsepower in ever more impressive comfort. An eight-speed transmission completes the driving experience. An exclusive “Platinum Edition” series is also available with specific Platinum Satin elements, especially in the front grill, Porsche lettering or the Cayenne logo at the rear. Specific 21-inch RS Spyder Design rims are also available.
