Born on July 10, 1928, Alejandro de Tomaso comes from a wealthy family. A farmer, then a politician, he took part in his first international race in 1955 before settling in Modena. There he met his future wife, Elizabeth Haskell, and became a full-time pilot at her side. Without convincing results and dissatisfied with his cars, he decided to found Automobili De Tomaso. His cars rarely finished the races, forcing him to turn to road cars. The Vallelunga, Mangusta and Pantera will be the spearheads of the brand. Alejandro died in 2003, but his brand lives on today.
