Our Mini Cooper S R53 John Cooper Works GP1, put on the road on September 8, 2006, now totals 101,000 km. Delivered new in Italy, it was imported into France and changed ownership in January 2016.
Presented in the exterior color Thunder Blue Metallic (code A64) combined with a black leather interior, this Mini GP1 is in very good overall condition. There is only slight chipping on the front and a few barely visible micro-scratches. The cabin is particularly well preserved, with no significant flaws. The on-board instrumentation works perfectly.
Under the hood, the compressed 1.6 4-cylinder engine develops 215 horsepower and offers an explosive character, true to the John Cooper Works spirit. The mechanics are in very good condition; the distribution chain was replaced in 2022. No costs are to be expected.
Maintenance was provided in the BMW and then BMW MINI networks: until 2013 at BMW Annemasse, before being taken over in 2016 by BMW MINI Mérignac, with regular monitoring since then.
Here are the most recent interviews conducted:
• 24/07/2013 at 69,818 km — BMW Annemasse
• 29/11/2018 at 91,307 km — BMW MINI Merignac

carVertical report
Numbered 1106 out of 2,000 copies, this John Cooper Works GP1 is one of the most iconic limited series in Mini's history. Only three owners succeeded one another, all of them particularly careful, which explains the excellent general condition of this example with a clear pedigree.
Produced in 2006 in only 2,000 units, the Mini Cooper S JCW GP1 represents the ultimate evolution of the R53 generation. Designed as a special end-of-production series, it alone summarizes the Mini philosophy of the time: compact, responsive and unfiltered. Assembled in Oxford and then finalized at Bertone, it is distinguished by its unique treatment, combining lightness and exclusivity.
Under the hood, the compressed 1.6 four-cylinder engine sees its power increased to 215 horsepower thanks to the John Cooper Works kit, revised engine management and a more liberated exhaust. Lightened by around 50 kilos, the GP renounces its back seat, adopts a partial roll cage and a sharpened chassis, designed by BMW Motorsport engineers.
Its aerodynamics are evolving subtly: large rear spoiler, specific bumpers, lightweight rims and the exclusive “Thunder Blue” color combined with a metallic gray roof. The interior remains uncluttered, with splashes of red and number plates reminding of its limited status.
The last supercharged Mini before the turbo era, the GP1 symbolizes the end of a cycle. Rare, noisy and demanding, it embodies the moment when the brand still dared to transform a city car into a road-approved track car.
