It is a story of never-ending evolution. At the beginning, there was the frail 1957 Lotus Seven, a kind of sports car minimum: 40 small horses but only 500 kg. When Lotus sold manufacturing to Catheram in 1973, some Seven already had 125 hp. Joop Donkervoort produced copies as early as 1978 and interpreted the concept in his own way. Ever faster and more extreme, here is the latest version, concocted by his son Denis: a 500 hp surface-to-surface missile for 750 kg speeding from 0 to 200 km/h in 7.9 s! And this, always with the front wheels outside the body!
