Our Mercedes-Benz 500 SL R107, put into circulation on October 1, 1987, now has a total of 149,000 km. Imported from Germany, it is now registered in France and changed ownership for the last time on July 29, 2023.
It comes in an elegant Red exterior color, combined with a Beige interior. The condition of the body as well as the interior condition are very careful. The on-board instrumentation works perfectly.
Powered by the 5.0L V8 with around 245 hp, this 500 SL offers the noble and cozy character specific to the Mercedes of the 80s. The mechanics are in good working order and do not require any costs.

Produced until the end of the 1980s, the Mercedes-Benz 500 SL R107 occupied a unique place in the line of Stuttgart roadsters. It appeared in 1980 to replace the 450 SL in markets where standards and expectations were rapidly changing. Under the hood, we find the 5.0-liter M117 V8, a unit renowned for its simple architecture and availability at low rpm. It is combined with a 4-speed automatic gearbox, a duo designed to offer a very relaxed, almost hushed drive, typical of the time.
The R107 is distinguished by its unusual longevity: an eighteen-year career, a record in the history of Mercedes. This duration is explained by a rigorous design, a proven platform and successive evolutions that allowed the model to remain relevant without a complete overhaul. The 500 SL model is distinguished in particular by its reinforced running gear, modernized braking and firmer tuning than the entry-level versions, a direct result of the V8's performance.
