Our Porsche 911 3.0 SC, put into circulation on November 1, 1978, today has a total of 179,300 KM. It has been registered in France for 25 years and changed owners in August 2022.
This model comes in an elegant metallic silver color (code L936) combined with a black leather and velvet interior. The body has recently been completely painted, and many interior elements have been restored: headliner, new Porsche carpets, door panels and driver's seat redone. The steering wheel and the gear knob are not in accordance with the original. All the instrumentation works normally, except for the electric mirrors.
On the mechanical level, this 911 has benefited from a major restoration, with a completely rebuilt engine and a new clutch. No costs are to be expected. The work was carried out by professionals specialized in vintage vehicles.

The Porsche 911 3.0 SC (Super Carrera), produced from 1978 to 1983, marked an important phase in the evolution of the 911 model. It succeeds the 911 Carrera 3.0 and aims to simplify the range by offering a compromise between performance, reliability and comfort, at a time marked by new anti-pollution regulations.
It is equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder flat engine (930/03), air-cooled, initially developing 180 horsepower (then 204 hp from 1980 for European models thanks to increased compression). This engine derives directly from that of the 930 Turbo, but without a turbocharger, offering a more progressive drive.
The 911 SC adopts the Type G chassis with its famous black gusseted bumpers, meeting American safety standards. Offered as a coupe, cabriolet (as early as 1983) and Targa, it gradually incorporated improvements: electronic ignition, reinforced brakes, and a 5-speed manual gearbox (type 915).
Its increased reliability and versatility make it a popular model, often considered to be the first “modern 911.” It paves the way for the Carrera 3.2, marking the end of an era for fully mechanical 911s before the arrival of more advanced electronics.
